Indian Valley Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Novato, California.
The golf course at Indian Valley Golf Club first opened for play in 1956. The course was designed by Robert Nyberg. The course was renovated and redesigned in 2004 by Kevin Ramsey.
This course's greens are sloping, small, and fast. The tree-lined fairways still afford generous landing areas, and many of them are doglegs. Water hazards (streams and ponds) come into play on many holes.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,253 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,238 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 528 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 120 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 528 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 4, a 120 yard par-3. The signature hole at Indian Valley Golf Club is #16, a 475-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot to a four-tiered green.

The ONLY course I have played with an elevator for golfers! (technically, a funicular rather than an elevator...). Lots of elevation changes made for some great vistas as well as challenging golf shots. Fun to play, so it is popular and hence can be slow. But I shall return for the golf challenge.

The management has really created a great atmosphere for their regulars. Always enjoy going to the bar/restaurant after a round. Their tournaments are excellent and they really prepare the course well. No houses and beautiful scenery on every hole. If I lived closer, I would definitely become an annual member.

I've only played here twice, and the last time the fairway grass needed to be cut and conditions were fairly sloppy. Great layout with challenging holes and nice views. I hope to get back to this course soon.

Best conditioned course in Marin and i complimented the staff on that after the round. It never had a history for that but they have done a spectacular job on preparing it for competitive play.....especially early morning fresh cut greens.

Greens need to be rolled. Ball bounced on way to cup. Bunker side grass is a dark green ball-eating thicket. You have to be lucky enough to step on your ball to find it. Fairways are in decent shape. Bunkers have real sand, but wet sand this time of year. Some Tee boxes are a mine field of goose poop. Nice course. Good value. Pleasant folks. Too many geese.

Great views. Very Peaceful. A wonderful place. The only problem is that it is so far out in the country. But that is what you get if you want to play a course without houses surrounding each hole. And yes, some holes are short. But challanging. A straight downhill 120-130 yard shot on the Par-3 #4 and #17. The other two Par-3's are much more difficult. A fun course. Even if I am not a big fan of #18.

Management of this course is constantly putting money back into the course in the way of improvements. Seeing new greens, new tee boxes, and changes in the layout are the norm, not the exception.

A very peaceful walk in the trees. No where near any roads or buildings.

One of my favorite courses. I try to get out at twilight in the summer when you can get a pretty good deal on a walking rate. Otherwise it is getting to be a little too pricey to be a real gem. Lots of trees that can get in the way but look pretty. Lots of wildlife to see. Lots of elevated shots that I think are cool (adds 40 yards to my drive!).
